This is what happens when you're a monkey at this age. We had just moved into Chambery, I was doing the dishes when she first climbed the back of the kitchen table chair. Kelson had grabbed her down and tried to distract her. "MOM!" He yelled, I looked over to see her at the top of the chair, fear in her eyes as she fell backwards hitting her head on the hardwood floor and taking a hit to the eye from the chair. My heart sunk. I dropped the dish and the scrubber and ran to her. Held captive by the chair, tears and cries escaped her little fragile body. I seized the chair and put it up right while keeping my focus on Chloe. Sure enough, the blood started coming and had no intentions of stopping anytime soon. I cradled her into my arms, Kelson grabbed a rag for her and I made a phone call to a neighbor friend. It was a blessing Melody was home and able to watch Kelson and Jayson. On the way to Utah Valley I called Eric, another blessing was being able to come to the hospital with us. Chloe lit up when Eric came into the waiting room. After waiting for just a few minutes we were called back. Chloe was calm. She was quiet and content. She let the doctor assess her and open her cut with not so much as a flinch from her. For these reasons they took her for a Cat Scan, Eric got to be in the room where she was swaddled and strapped down and scanned. Sure enough, a fracture on the back of her head. A blessing there wasn't any bleeding or swelling. They sedated her for the stitches, it doesn't put them completely to sleep. It's more like the lights are on but no-body is home. To be honest, it was a little creepy to see. After the four stitches had been placed, Eric held her til she fully came to. In the meanwhile she kept making the same noises over and over, like a broke record, she kept point to the air and talking to it. After monitoring her for some time after her sedation, they finally released us to come home. There were blessings left and right during this whole ordeal. Chloe was happy to be home, to walk and crawl all over the floor. Although, to my surprise, she went straight back to that chair. Eric and I decided to take the chairs and store them in Jayson's room for a while we enjoy family meals on the floor!

Kelson's 6th Birthday

Our big 6 year old boy!

Friday, the 26th was his BIRTHDAY and GREEN day at school! We didn't have much to get Kelson birthday gifts resulting from his expensive incidents he had a month prior, but we managed to get him a few things and they just so happen to be green. That morning before school we had him open his gift bag. Ninja Turtle hat, watch and sunglasses. I actually didn't get any pictures of that morning, we were rushing for school. Luckily, that Sunday we caught a few moments at his grandparent's and the presents they had for him. They gave him a few BYU shirts, some Legos and a Superhero story book. Later in the week he got art/school supplies from Gma Louly & Gpa John. The following week he received Ninja Turtle underwear and socks from Nana.

After a hard delivery for both Momma and baby, Kelson made his way to the NICU. This picture was after he was doing much better and all the devices had been removed, thanks to all the medical help provided.

Looking back on these pictures the emotions swarm my heart. I remember such fine detail, yet have forgotten so much. I wish I could go back and hug him.

Kelson, thank you for joining our family six whole years ago, even longer if you want to get technical. You were a surprise to us, but you have been such a blessing. Since then you have taught me so many valuable lessons and I hope to return the favor to you as time goes on. You always have the best intentions within your heart. You are so loving and caring about those around you, family, friends and acquaintances. Thank you for all your cleaning you do around the house, for helping Chloe is all her endeavors (it's so sweet you express just how much you don't want her to grow up), for reaching out to those lonely kids at school and becoming their friend, for being thoughtful of all those you come in contact with-wanting them to be happy, for your silly remarks and your crazy ideas! One of my favorite most recent ideas you've had is growing up to be an animal! I mean, aminal! You shine so bright in our home, keeping us from dull moments. You and your brother still fight like crazy, just breath and remember how much fun you two have together. You are such a brilliant boy, Kelson, I am so happy to call you mine and have you forever in our family! I hope this 6th year for you is outstanding, full of love, laughter and tons of adventure. Happy Birthday, big guy!
