Kelson's Birthday! 5 whole years!!!

Kelson Joseph Autrey

August 26, 2010

The day of Kelson's birthday landed on a Wednesday, the day right before school started for him. We had our very own little birthday party for him that evening. He opened his gifts and loved each and every one of them! I wrapped them all and stuffed them in his new back pack, then wrapped the back pack! At first he only thought there was only one present for him. He was completely okay with just receiving his back pack, but I could tell he wished there were more. Such a cute kid! After presents his Gma/Gpa showed up to give him presents from them! Afterwards we celebrated with chocolate peanut butter cake! He blew the candle out before we could even sing to him!

He got a watch, a helmet, a license plate for his bike, back pack, school items, clothes, and treats!

That Friday afternoon we had his friend party at Nelson's Grove in Orem! He was so excited! I surprised him with the Ninja Turtle theme-he was pretty proud! Kelson and I had made bright orange and bright green cupcakes with bright orange and bright blue frosting with, of course, sprinkles!!! He LOVED decorating them with me. He wanted to invite ALL his friends. I asked him what the names were and he couldn't tell me, he just wanted everyone there!
Uncle Levi made it, Aunt Lacee was there, The Mohler's showed up as well as the Poulson's! I'd have to say it as a pretty good turn out! The party lasted two full hours! At the end Kels was begging to go home. He loved everything he received and was even nice enough to allow Jay to play with the new toys. SHOCKING, I KNOW! No, they really do love each other, they just don't show it often.

I honestly can't believe that it's been 5 years since I became a mom. 5 years since our family started to grow. 5 years since our lives really changed and for the better. 5 years. 5 whole years.  I feel like I should be older and more mature to have a 5 year old that goes to kindergarten. These last five years have been so great! He is such a loving, kind spirited, brilliant boy! We just love him to pieces!
Bright orange and green cupcakes, bright blue and orange frosting and, of course, sprinkles! Kelso helped decorate them

These q-tip sticks are from Lacee! They are colored on the end and he can use them to spell!

He spelt these with out help! Even if it was a fluke, I'm still proud!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELSON!

Dad and Mom are SO proud of you!
