Jayson's Sweet Heart

Christmas Eve ready to go home
This little young boy will be four just before Christmas. He is a lucky one to share a birthday with Joseph Smith! He was due the 25th and I remember telling the doctor we didn't want him on Christmas. The 22nd came, we were admitted for induction! Eric and I thought, this is really happening! Our excitement grew knowing that we were only hours away from meeting our newest baby boy. Nurse came in and cut off our excitement when she mentioned we had to leave, an other lady was in active labor and there weren't any other rooms available. We took the monitors off, got dressed and left. That phone call to come back from L&D seemed like it took forever. My phone rang that evening and we were admitted yet again! This time for good! Labor was great but the delivery was a little more tricky. He was sunny side up and it took more effort to get him out! Just before 1:00 in the morning, we had our beautiful content little boy. Our happy and healthy pride and joy. He stole our hearts instantly and continues to do so over and over again.

It's a true blessing to have such a special spirit be apart of our family. His heart is gold and so full of love, more love than anyone I have ever known.  All day, every day, everything he does is for love. He is always full of kisses, hugs and cuddles. As a baby he wasn't the snuggling type, even now he only snuggles for a few minutes, but he attempts to do so every day. Often times his smothering love gets to be too much, for everyone! Chloe can only take so many kisses at once, she definitely lets him know when she has had enough. Kelson and him don't share many sincere moments, but when they do you can't help but feel warmth in your heart.

Jayson loves kisses as I've stated above. One day i let him kiss me for a whole minute all over my face. He thought it was the greatest thing in the world. I thought for sure he hadn't gotten all the kissing our of his system. I was wrong. Five minutes later he was at my feet asking to do it again! A child's heart is the warmest thing in the world. They love unconditionally and forgive instantly. They accept others and are friends to everyone. I love being his mamma, being able to watch him learn and grow. I love that he loves me as much as he does, despite my faults and struggles. Jayson, along with Kelson, have taught me a lot about the life our Savior lived by loving others, accepting others, and assisting others. I hope to one day, have a heart of a child again.

Some memories/things about Jayson:

  • Be sure to call him JJ, Jay or Jayson. Anything else is not tolerated and he will let you know what to call him :D
  • He loves bread, any kind. Especially pizza, he can eat as much as I can! We monitor how much he eats bc he would eat so much and cause bowel movement issues :)
  • He says the topic of what he is about to say, then says yep, and continues with his comment.
    • Example would be: Vampire, yep, I want to be a vampire for Halloween.
  • His body parts tell him things, he doesn't think of things to do, his body tells him.
    • Example would be: My tummy told my hands to grab the pizza.
    • He had gone to a movie with Eric and Uncle Levi to see the new movie Pan. He said these things to Levi: At Coldstone "my stomach is REALLY happy right now!" Then later while we were watching the movie he whispers to me "my stomach in angry right now, I think it wants some popcorn" Oh, he also said "so my eyes are liking this"!
  • He looks forward to being tucked in every night and asks me to sing his favorite song, right now it is When I Am Baptized (I like to look for rainbows).
  • He finds so much joy in making Chloe happy
  • If I have upset him, he comes to me and we talk about it. He tells me that I broke his heart.
    • Example of something that happen only a couple weeks ago: I had taken him with me to go get Kelson from school. On the way home I asked Kelson about his day, like I do every day. When we got home, Jayson got out of the car and slumped over while he walked with me to the mailbox. "Mom" he said. I turned to see a big frown on his face. "You have broke my heart..." I addressed him and starting asking questions. "You only talked to Kelson and not me. I'm mad at Kelson for coming home." It was the cutest thing but of course it broke my heart to hear these words flow from his mouth. We had a good chat right there on the curb by our mailbox. We both walked home hand in hand and very happy.
Believe me when I say he has the biggest heart full of love.
