Start Smart Soccer

1st day of soccer
The month of February was soccer season for our little guy! I was his partner through the 'season' and we were great together! Chloe sat on the sidelines eating gold fish and veggie straws, nawing on toys and cheering us on.
Jay does really well dribbling the ball (slowly of course, just as a 4 year old does). His best skill is playing defense.
I think he really enjoyed the one on one time we had together for the short forty-five minute we played. I know I sure enjoyed having undivided attention with him.
His very last day at soccer was his first 'game'. It was so fun! Us parents played on our kids' team and tried to help them through their positions and to carry out their learned skills. Not that winning is the focus or even matters at his level of soccer, he won! 3-0! He even made one of the goals :) It was sure fun! I wish I could have taken pictures of the game, maybe even some video, but I was in the game and no one was sitting on the sidelines with Chloe to do it for me.
All the kids received an award and a medal! Jay was so proud and wore that thing for days, who wouldn't? Next was team pictures! Coach Mason had me take picture for him on his phone. I made sure to get his pictures before mine which resulted in my pictures being more mediocre. I sports director saw the great pictures I took and asked if I would send them to him for the rec center newsletter. That made me happy ;)
Afterwards they had one last huddle-one of the greatest parts!
Jayson is pretty bummed there isn't more soccer... I tried cheering him up by asking if he wanted to do swimming lessons or basketball next. His reply was basketball! That is also a start smart (I'm his partner) and that makes me hesitant. It was hard having Chloe sit by herself for a full forty-five minutes.

Last day of soccer *tear

The pictures below were taken through out the month of soccer.

He just loves coming to soccer!

Receiving his certificate!

Silly Kashton put his head right behind Jay's as he's receiving his medal... >:(
That kid is always all over the place and never listening....

There is Jay! Smack-dab right in the middle!
<-- Coach Mason,  Coach Ian -->
Coach Jill wasn't here :(

Very last team cheer! One of Jay's favorite parts! He's not pictured.. That might be his arm there on the left in purple...

I was busy taking pictures with my phone and the coach's phone. Which by the way, the head director of sports saw my pictures and asked me to send them to him to post in their newsletter! I felt great!
