January 9th 2021 Newport Beach

Corona del Mar, meaning Crown of the Sea.

Eric & I were flirting, which got a tad out of hand throwing him over the couch!

The best fish tacos I've ever had. These are from Bajo Sharkys near the Newport Pier. They also have delicious spicy chicken tacos and great guac & chips!

Beacon Bay, docs at the Harbor.

This bridge is beautiful and nearly 90 years old. It's a foot bridge that connects two segments of Goldenrod Avenue, 401 Goldenrod Ave, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625.
"Through the late 1920s, the largest concentration of homes in Corona del Mar was along the bluffs overlooking the bay. One reason for this was obvious – the view.  The other reason was that the only road to Corona del Mar was Bayside Drive.  Few people bought lots and fewer built houses on the northeast side of Bayside Drive.  Reaching this area meant taking a circuitous route.  Getting to the beach meant scrambling down and back up “Pacific Gulch” to cross Bayside Drive."
Below this bridge is one of my favorite streets to drive while visiting, Bayside Drive. It's narrow, surrounded by parks, grass (which is hard to come by in these parts), cute cottage like homes, fancy yacht clubs and decorative hill sides; it's also quiet and sparse compared to the business around.

Corona Del Mar Beach:

Chloe said something really funny when this picture was taken:

I was over heating with what I had on. I didn't come dressed to the beach in any beach gear, it had been chilly. I slipped my garment top off and wore the undershirt.

This is the house that Lori grew up in. Of course this is not what it looked like all those years ago.

Delicious treats from C'est Si Bon
Address: 149 Riverside Ave suite B, Newport Beach, CA 92663
Everything we bought and tried was delicious. I really liked the dark chocolate kiss truffles.

Scenic trail of the back bay, a park called Castaways Park
We were told on Memorial day the entire path is lined with patriotic flags, each in remembrance of a veteran. We had the best company, Judy and Lori.

Delicious breakfast with Judy and Lori and Dory's Deli. High recommend this place for their great tasting food and excellent service. This joint is right by the Newport Pier. Right next door is a famous doughnut shop, their line is always pretty long. Supposedly it's worth the wait. We will have to give it a shot next time.
