LABOR DAY 2016
Dad had called me, inviting us to go celebrate Onion Days with him in Payson. We met at the house to carpool and little did we know that the we had been invited to ride in the parade! A neighbor friend, Lauren Bishop owns this fun train and he drives it in the parade for advertisement and fun. We all loaded up in the caboose and waved our arms off through the crowd. It was fun for all of us, unfortunately, Eric had to work that morning and was unable to join us. Maybe next year, if we're lucky! The boys were a bit shy to wave at people, but Chloe sure wasn't! A girl about Kelson's age ran up to him and gave him a piece of her and smiled at him. He got so embarrassed, the whole thing was just cute. A lot of the 'float's' throw candy out for the children. With us given such short notice, we didn't have any candy to hand out and the disappointment showed on the kids' faces as we drove by. Luckily, horses were right behind us to distract them from the letdown. All that being said, the boys didn't catch any candy because they were riding in the train. Great for me, sad for them!

Afterwards we went back to my dads to let the boys ride in the sidexside.

That afternoon we had a family date with the Neiser's for the Cardinals game. I left dad's and stopped at Walmart for a few items for it. On our way home we saw this accident happen! Jay saw most of it, I saw the car settle on it's side and Kelson saw the after math. Luckily, there were many first responders as I didn't want to leave my children in the car. Right as I took this picture the red car on the right pulled up and interfered with the scene picture I was about to take. What you don't see is the 14 year old girl that is passed out laying in the gutter on the corner. She was in the car that tipped over, obviously not wearing a seat belt. The two minutes that we sat at the light she never came to...
The boys and I felt so sad and a bit scared. It was a good teaching moment as to why we wear our seat belts. We decided to have a prayer and that made them feel more comforted. When we got home we all doggy piled on me and held each other close, being thankful and counting our blessings.
That next day I looked up the report on the news. This accident was caused by a one of them running the red light. The men in the van were fine, the one girl flew out of the SUV and the other girl had to be extracted out of it. All victims were taken to the hospital, both girls in the SUV were in critical condition. Seat belt are important. There for a reason. Needed. Life saving. Crucial. It's scary to see the damage done when one chooses not to wear one. Needless to say, buck up, say your prays and count your many blessings!
LABOR DAY 2015
September 7, 2015 we had a great Labor Day! It was a nice kick off for the
fall season approaching! First thing, we headed down to Payson for their parade where we met Dad, Mom and Kailee. The parade was nearly
TWO hours long... The weather wasn't too bad and they threw candy! Definitely can't complain!!! Then we went to my boss' clubhouse just on the other side of the town. An indoor pool party and pot luck lunch made some little boys
VERY happy! It wore us out, we went home and had quiet time. We had a nice family date right in our front room! Eric and the boys went and got pizza and ice cream! We got through a quarter of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when we decided to go on a family walk. All in all, it was a very nice easy going day!
