Christmas Decorating!

Monday night we finally broke out the Christmas box for FHE. They boys were so excited! We tried explaining the true meaning of Christmas. They took it as Jesus was born on Christmas, not that Christ was born and that is why we celebrate Christmas. They will get it when they are older, for now we will stick the basics. They have such sweet spirits and big loving hearts.

Mom, can I be a reindeer for Halloween?

Chloe was even helping!
Need to find the perfect spot for this!

Look at his hat! HAHAHA

What Kelson Learned Dec 7th

Kelson told me what he learned at school yesterday. In his words:
Mom, we can not drink our mom or dads potent drinks, bc we will die.
And we can not share our germs or we can die.
Mom, we can not smoke or it will get in our lungs and our throat and nose and we will have to die bc we can't breath.
Mom, you can not wear heels in the sidewalk or the road or they will get in the cracks and you will sink, then we all will sink. So you have to wear shoes or boots.
Mom, they shot a pig and you have to wear big gloves so you don't get germs on you and die and they pulled the lungs out and put it on this thinking thing that made them fill up.
*Last night at dinner he asked for a drink. I let him know he could use my water bottle. Haha he declined bc it might be a potent drink and doesn't want to die! HAHAHA

Chloe's Eye

Friday morning, December 4, Chloe poked her self in the eye and received a scratched cornea. We were playing in bed while we enjoyed our morning snuggles. I thought I had actually seen the scratch in her eye, but thought that would be crazy and brushed it off as a reflection. That afternoon Eric mentioned he could see the chunk that was missing... Called the doctor and went in an hour later.

Sure enough, it wasn't just a scratch but a chunk taken out of her cornea. The way they determine if a cornea has been scratched is fascinating! NP Laurie put florescent dye in her eye, turned the light off and use a black light to see the scratch. Some how the dye is attracted to the rough surface therefore visible to see any damage. Chloe had an eye drop put in and a bandage placed over her eye. She hated the whole experience and cried yellow until I could hold her. As for the eye patch, it didn't bother her one bit! She was happy go lucky the whole time.

Kelson took the patch off during the car ride and placed it on an ornament Chloe had been playing with... I had to buy a whole new pack of patches bc the doctor office had only given me as many as I actually needed. That night I ran to Walgreen's to pick up her eye drops and buy said patches.
The following morning I called the doctor's office after hours and made an appointment an hour later. They did the same procedure to ensure the drops were working and the scratched had healed. We were given the all clear and that was that!

Chloe's 4 Month Checkup

Oh my word! I wrote this and never published it!!! This was written back in October...

4 Month Check Up

At 5 months...

Already, it was time for Chloe to receive more vaccinations and measure her growth!

While I was working, Eric took Chloe to the doctor with Jay in tow. Long story short, she's happy and healthy! The only thing that was abnormal was her labia fusion, which hasn't fixed it self. The doctor told us when this would happen many years ago, they would snip the excess and send them on their way. Little did they know it did more damage than good. Now they learned a more effective way using a hormone cream. $40 later we have a little tube that should last us a month or two. Insurance doesn't cover it because it's a compound prescription.  Doctor said that it takes at least a month to show results if not longer, but guaranteed to do the job!

I also made both kids get the flu shot! With Kelson in school I fear him bringing home all sorts of bugs! The last bug he brought home was 6 weeks ago, we are still trying to get rid of it and all the friends that particular bug thought to invite.

Her measurements:

Weight: 13.45, 16.3%

Head: 16 in, 46%

Length: 25.25 in, 54%
2 weeks old she was 86%
2.5 months old she was 74%

6 Months

Where has my little baby gone? Chloe is a WHOLE half of a year old now! She is certainly the cutest little bundle I have ever seen!

14 POUNDS!

Chloe has been sitting up on her own for several minutes at a time. She absolutely loves her toys as she rolls around on the floor! For the past couple weeks she will get on her knees and rock! I'm not ready for her to be that mobile. (Her 1st crawl was just after her 6 month mark, Nov. 29)

She absolutely loves sweet potato's! So far it is her favorite. She will eat peas, but not a fan. She eats pears and things they are good, but nothing so far has beat the deliciousness of sweet potato! She really enjoys her food being mixed with cereal! Makes it thicker and possibly easier to eat.

We call her many cute little nicknames! The most common is Chloe Janae-nae! There is also Cocoa Bean, Chlo Bug, and Cocoa Janae.

Her favorite things: Being tickled, being strapped to Daddy's chest, of course eating and playing. She also enjoys being entertained by her big brothers.

Over the past month she has found her toes! She tries her hardest to get them in her mouth, along with anything else she can find. The boys never played with their feet like she does.

She has made it known that she only likes Tommee Tippee bottles and binkies. (we had to go buy another bottle)
Her half birthday is her Grandma Autrey birthday, and vise versa!
Kelson got a hold of her 'special' cream and thought to put it all over his face... (gross!)
She wears 6-9 month clothes and often 12 month leggings!
Her hair is growing a lot and coming in golden blonde :)
When she sees the camera she smiles instantly, unless she's upset...
Her legs have become frog legs, or mermaid 'legs'. They don't just kick, but she gets moving like I would picture a mermaid would.
We have tried puffs, but she isn't too into them... yet? The boys loved them, and still do!
Her favorite person is still her daddy. She lights UP when he enters the room. She doesn't lose eye contact until he acknowledges her. Her excitement kills me!

She still doesn't sleep very long at night.  A couple months ago she was going through a growth spurt and was hungry ALL the time. Shortly after that she got sick and woke up even more because she couldn't breath, she was always hungry she couldn't eat much from all the congestion. Instead of going back to her normal schedule once she got better, the schedule has remained the same. She wakes up at 8 and goes down at 10:30, after eating, and sleeps anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours. Her afternoon nap varies based on when she gets up from her morning. Depending on how long she sleeps in the afternoon, she may or may not have another afternoon nap... We are working on this! Mama really needs her sleep, especially when she works the next morning. The nice part about her waking up at night she never cries... She grunts and groans until you get her. Haha it's cute to hear.

A whole 6 months... Half of a year! I'm sure the next six months will fly just like the last six have.

Jay put his hat on her
Daddy can make some silly faces

1st crawl-she hasn't done it since, but has been real close
